Be a Volunteer

Our regular construction work week is Tuesday through Saturday.  Work is led by our Construction Supervisor,  Marty Capo (Terry Manges is now our Director of Construction). Our AmeriCorps Construction Assistants are:  Denise Lewis and Hank Pinkerton. Construction skills are helpful, but not necessary.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years-old to work on the site, but there are often opportunities for younger volunteers with parent supervision.   All volunteers must sign a liability waiver and the volunteer work log.  Forms are available here. Call the office, (859) 625-9208,(859) 625-0581, or e-mail us at habitatcounty3@bellsouth.net for specific information, work site directions and work times to volunteer.

Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties is blessed with many volunteers. Our success is directly related to the number of individuals like you who give their time and talent in construction, crew leading, family selection and support, bookkeeping, correspondence, fundraising, site selection, legal work,  landscaping, hosting out-of-town volunteers, recycling, other kinds of office work, and various committees.  We are always looking for task-specific volunteers.  Please contact us to see how you skill fits our needs.

Groups are also welcome to schedule their community service work with Habitat Madison and Clark Counties.  Our Volunteer Lodge in Richmond has beds for 16 that can be reserved by out-of-town volunteers.  Larger groups can be accommodated.  We do ask out-of-town groups to bring a contribution of $100 per person so we can finance the work to be done.

We have hosted church youth and adult mission trips, high school groups, AmeriCorps Teams, and college spring and fall break work trips from outside Kentucky and benefited from local groups from churches, youth groups, fraternities, sororities, college and high school classes, civic clubs, and other groups.
